About the Grand Forks Region EDC
The Grand Forks Region Economic Development Corporation (EDC) is focused on building a stronger future for the Grand Forks region. As a member-driven nonprofit, the EDC works alongside local businesses, investors, community partners, and regional leaders to encourage business growth and attract new investment.
Much of this work happens behind the scenes, with projects often requiring years of planning, site preparation, financing, and workforce development before they come to life. Through these efforts, the EDC helps strengthen the local economy and create a region where businesses and communities can continue to grow and thrive.

Building Connections
The Center for Innovation (CFI) and the EDC bring different strengths together to support the region’s entrepreneurs, businesses, and talent. While the EDC focuses on business growth and regional development, CFI strengthens the entrepreneurial ecosystem through coaching, mentorship, and access to resources.
InternGF is a great example of that collaboration. Together, CFI and the EDC connect UND students with regional employers through paid internships while creating experiences that introduce students to the businesses, industries, and communities that make the region unique.
By combining career opportunities with connections beyond the workplace, the program helps students see what a future in Grand Forks could look like.
