Grand Forks, ND September 15, 2009: The Center for Innovation and the UND Wellness Center are happy to announce that Patty Purpur, Founder, and Former President/CEO of Timeout Services, will be speaking as part of the ongoing Entrepreneur Forum Series. The forum, titled “How to Win with Entrepreneurship and Fitness” will occur on Monday, September 21 st at 5:30 pm in the Royse Atrium at the University of North Dakota Wellness Center, located at 801 Princeton St in Grand Forks. Grand Forks native Patty Purpur will discuss what it takes to make it in Entrepreneurship, specifically related to Fitness and Health.
Patty received a Bachelors of Arts degree from Stanford University where she was Captain of the Women’s track team and a nine time All-American Athlete. Patty has been inducted into the North Dakota High School Sports Hall of Fame and the North Dakota Sports Hall of Fame. She has been named to the Business Journal’s Top 50 Most Influential Women in Silicon Valley, has served on the National Association of Women Business Owners - Silicon Valley Board (NAWBO), and was a former President of the Silicon Valley Entrepreneur’s Organization (EO). She currently is the Co-Director of the Stanford University Health Promotion Network and remains a trainer, coach, and facilitator.
Timeout Services was a full service company assisting corporations in the development and management of corporate fitness centers. Clients have included Google, Cisco, Safeway, and Yahoo!. Patty grew the organization to over 100 employees and over 5 million dollars in sales by the year 2008. Plus One Holdings purchased the company in January of 2009.
The Entrepreneur Forum is a periodical gathering of entrepreneurs and business people who share experiences, strategies, and success stories. The September Forum marks the first time that the Center for Innovation and the Wellness Center have teamed up. The event is free and open to the public. |
